Move Through Life

Pleasant View Nursing Home partners with Aegis Therapies to offer a comprehensive rehabilitation program to help you move through life and achieve the highest level of functional skills possible. Better, faster, and stronger is our goal for you.

Our physical, speech, and occupational therapists collaborate to help patients and residents reach their individual therapy goals. Our therapists utilize the latest therapy treatments and equipment to tailor a therapy plan for you.

No matter your goals, we encourage you and your family to be actively involved in creating your care plan for the best results.

Regain Movement

Regain muscle strength and improve coordination following injury or illness with help from our physical therapist.

If you have difficulty climbing stairs or moving from bed to a chair, physical therapy can help you restore functionality or adapt to meet new challenges. Our patients and residents can learn to walk safely again with support equipment, maneuver a wheelchair, or use an artificial limb. Physical therapy can also help control or alleviate acute or chronic pain.

Improve Communication

Strokes or other injuries can cause issues with many different types of communication. Our speech-language pathologist work one-on-one with patients to help them regain functional communication in a variety of ways- speaking, listening, writing, reading, gesturing, etc. Establishing successful communication can dramatically improve recovery.

The speech-language pathologist also helps improve other types of daily interaction with therapies to improve swallowing and methods for communicating with the hearing-impaired cognitive training.

Relearn Skills

Have you lost the ability to perform certain daily activities on your own? Our occupational therapist will help you relearn tasks (personal hygiene, meal preparation, homemaking, and financial management).

Learn how to use the techniques and equipment to complete these tasks. Occupational therapists also work on cognitive, musculoskeletal, and mobility concerns, including adaptive seating devices to prevent muscle deformities and maintain healthy skin. Additionally, they can help people with memory attention or problem-solving deficits.

Why Choose Outpatient Therapy?

Our outpatient therapy program can help you:

– Make a smooth transition from an inpatient medical setting to a home environment
– Speed healing from an injury surgery, illness, or deconditioning
– Decrease muscle and joint pain, and improve functionality
– Implement a home exercise program to maximize your recovery
